Senior Frontend Engineer

The Opportunity

Headliner is the next generation live events company, changing the way users attend and experience live events. Our core product is a live event ticketing platform, making it easier and cheaper for consumers to attend events by enabling them to bid the price they want to pay, similar to the mechanics of the stock market. This has allowed us to become the fastest growing ticketing platform in the US, gain a loyal following of users, and save them millions on purchases in the process. That said, we still have a lot of work to do and a long road ahead, and are looking for people to join us on this journey.

We are currently looking for a versatile, self-motivated software developer with a bias for front-end development to join our engineering team. We are looking for someone excited to take on our ambitious product roadmap who exhibits passion, creativity and a love of building products that directly touch consumers. If you are interested in playing a mission-critical role in helping develop the future of how fans attended and experience live events, we want to talk to you!

Our engineering team is a small, tight-knit and highly productive group. We all currently work across the stack to build out new features, and optimize our current offering to offer the best possible experience to our users. This role reports directly to our Head of Engineering, but will be regularly interfacing with our CEO, Head of Growth, and Director of Design.

What You’ll Do

  • Work closely with the team to launch and iterate on rich product experiences.
  • Act as the owner of our frontend architecture and write clean, scalable code.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to address pain points in our development process and adhere to industry best practices.
  • Develop and maintain internal APIs powering our frontend, and consumed by our inventory partners.
  • Improve system stability and scalability as our platform continues to grow.

What skills and experience do you need?

  • Have fundamental knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Care deeply about writing clean, readable, and logically-sound Javascript.
  • Have experience working with Ruby on Rails or a similar Ruby framework.
  • Have experience working with CSS preprocessors like SASS or LESS.
  • Are familiar with building user interfaces with tools like ES6, React.js, or Vue.js.
  • Are familiar with task runners such as Webpack, Grunt.
  • Have worked on and shipped production level code while factoring in performance, accessibility, and application design.
  • Can think through product requirements to come up with ways of quickly solving problems.
  • Are able to communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders.
